Why Aren't People Watching Your Videos?

ahh! The algorithm! You and I both know how difficult it is to
get people to actually SEE your stuff.

  • You come up with a topic

  • You write down your points

  • You go live, film, write, etc.

  • Post it up

and then crickets. No one is responding or even watching. I know and I’ve been there. I’m still in the process of learning and growing my channel and blog - so I get how frustrating it is.

That’s why I’ve decided to share some tips on how you can get more people to watch or read your stuff. It’s all trial and error and it’s all about learning from your journey - so have a seat and learn from some of the lessons I’ve experienced.

Returning to my Love...


When I was a kid, the internet wasn’t really a “thing”. We didn’t quite understand it and it wasn’t something we honestly spent a lot of time on. It existed but it was still so new and so there wasn’t sites like Twitter or Instagram to distract us from the other fun parts of life - like going to the park or calling your friends on a 3 way call. lol

So as a result, I often did other things to occupy my time.

I rode my bike, walked a mile to the library almost every day so I could read and get out the house, I took photos of everything I could since I was sure that one of my jobs would be as a photographer, and I wrote. I wrote all the time.

I wrote short stories, poems, song lyrics, and anything I could think of. I loved to sit in my room for hours and write. My brother also loved to write so we would often write stories and songs and then sing them to one another to see if it sounded “good”.

But once I went off to college and the internet became a big thing too - I became consumed with social media. That took away my time to just sit quietly in my room with music playing and just focusing on my own thoughts- uninteruppted.

This month of November, I want to try and return to that. I want to return to some of my childhood hobbies and get back into the groove of things. I’m interested to know if:

  1. I even enjoy those hobbies anymore and

  2. If it will help improve my mindset & mental health

I find that the more time I spend on social media, the more I struggle with feeling connected to my CURRENT world. I become sucked into the pursuit of likes for validation and it blocks my creativity.

Well for now, my goal is simple.

I plan to at least blog 3-4 times a week. This will get me back into the groove of writing simply for the enjoyment of it. I don’t want to promise anything - because at the end of the day - I want this to be something I can enjoy; not something that stresses me out.

A Day In Chicago with my Love...


This past weekend, my boyfriend and I went into the City to enjoy a day out. We live a little outside of the city, so we don’t often get to experience the fun things to do in Chicago but this weekend we were able to.

I REALLY needed this weekend. Honestly, my boyfriend needed it too because we BOTH have been so stressed out with working. We love what we do and so we tend to respect each other’s commitment to our careers but it does often mean that our stress levels are high and our fun times definitely need some more attention.

Therefore, this weekend felt like a million bucks.

On Friday, we spent the night indoors. We watched Empire (well I watched it and he fell asleep lol) but we simply had a glass of wine (well he did - my body has been hating alcohol lately) and we simply relaxed. Because life is always “go-go-go” it feels so good to just be at home sometimes with nothing to do and no place to go.

On Saturday, we started off the day really calm before we got ready to drive into the city.

We actually went to Wrigleyville and then took photos in the area. The leaves were so gorgeous that we had to capture it.


After that, we had dinner in Chinatown, which I have to say….is a beautiful place! I had no idea how cool that area is. To be honest, I didn’t even know it existed so I’m super grateful that I had the chance to experience it with my boyfriend. We had dinner at this restuarant called Ming Hin Cuisine and it was delicious! The wait wasn’t bad either. We had such a fantastic time that we can’t wait to revisit the area for more food and fun.

Once we finished dinner, we went to the movies and saw Nobody’s Fool. There’s not much to say about this because honestly - the movie was awful. It truly was. It was cheesy, poorly written, and 80% of the jokes didn’t land. As in, no one laughed in the theater. When we did laugh, it was usually at moments they didn’t want us to. It was just awful. I think that will be my last Tyler Perry movie voluntarily. lol Even Tiffany Haddish couldn’t save this one.


We then went to Insomnia Cookies for some snickerdoodles and oatmeal raisin cookies and my word - it was so good! I gotta tell you! This is only my second time eating them, but they tasted DELICIOUS! We don’t have them out in the suburbs so it’s a treat to be able to get them in the city. They are worth all the weight you gain AND the sugar rush. lol Especially the snickerdoodles!

This weekend taught me a LOT. It taught me a lot about taking time away from everything so you can just ENJOY life.

Sometimes I become so obsessed with my business that I live, breathe, and sleep it and it leads to migranes, crying fits, and frustration. Not to mention the loneliness and expectation hangovers that happen too.

When you focus your mind on other things - like hobbies and embracing the EXPERIENCE of living - it can leave you feeling inspired again and that’s a great feeling.

So write down a fun thing you can do in your city or town. Be a tourist and look up things to do. Then this upcoming weekend (or your next day off), go out and actually do it. Have a good time and enjoy yourself!
